Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), is an integral part of education and human development at all ages. The good news is that it can be taught, modeled, and practiced. SEL is donable and has a long-term positive impact on students’ attitudes, relationships, problem-solving skills, academic and behavioral success. Participants will learn:
- How to teach SEL through explicit instruction using the 3 SEL Programs/Curriculum K-12 available to all SISD staff & students through the THRIVE Grant (“Why Try?” “Ripple Effects,” “Resilience for Youth);
- Instructional approaches & activities that apply SEL instruction in a “real-life setting.”
- How to effectively integrate SEL’s 5 key components into core & elective instruction & curricula.
